Second Headlamp Box Restoration

I have three headlamp boxes, only one came with partitions and label but rusty outside, which was restored in May 2022.

The second box from eBay in 2022 has marking: ‘Beleuchtungsgerät für Strichplatteä’ translated as ‘Lighting Device for Reticle’ but all partitions been emptied inside, it has good original paint and 90% of the stencil, good hinges but missing handle strap and pull straps.

Based on the original partitions tried to restore this box; only can duplicate the missing parts by 1mm aluminum, as I am not capable of working on steel sheets with my hand tool.

The most challenging was to reshape the hammered flat battery brackets, was lucky to fix it with some heat and elbow strength, the curves are back to shape.

The battery box hook strap also been hammered flat too, but easy to back to shape by a screw driver. Now the project could move forward.

All parts are bent by hand and secured together not by sopot weld but by small rivets and nailed to the enlarged wooden base plates.

Then locked in place by wood screws at the bottom.

Quite a successful job but not fits for sale as not that accurate.
