RK31 Periscope Total Restore–1 (May 2022)
Around two years ago I obtained my first periscope of the RK31, it was in such a poor condition and I had no experience to determine the lens condition then just bought it as price right. and not aware the hassle to replace or clean the prism.
As the blurry lenses and corroded housing, why not to take it apart which may have chance to restore it, turned out to be the metal parts were easy but the prisms and front lens are impossible to clean only by replace, after months of searching but in vain, the sole purpose of the periscope became stuffing the leather pouch.
Not until the optic master Martin Sivák found the top prism from his stock, and indicated that the small prism is still serviceable, also able to replacement the front lens and the locking ring bring the scope back to life.
