The planning of restoration took around two to three weeks.

The only source was to collected all pics on the forums, enlarged the parts and made my own drawings by the old holes and marks on the wood.

From these drawings built some plastic models for test, have no 3D printer all are hand cut by modelling PE sheets.

Parts to build:

Steel

A. Leg sleeve with hinge plate x 1

B. Shaft Bracket x1

C. Shoulder strap press plate x 2

D. Leg locking lever with mount x 2

E. wrongly marked as F

F. D Ring with mount x2

 

 

Brass:

Brass angle 3 x 20 x 18mm –L91mm x 2

 

Matching brass angles and brass screws, later learned that the new brass screws are anti aging (always in shining gold color), which is not match the vantage brass looks, reordered old new stock vintage brass screws but only has 48pcs, lucky to match with the 12 good screws to completed all 60 pcs for four brass angles.

Later found the imperial old screws are a bit larger than the original metric screws, and the shining screws can be aged by Gun Blue. What a waste of time and money!

 

Wooden Parts:

A. 4mm thick long Breech wood planks x 10 for top layer.

B. 4mm thick short Breech wood planks x 10 for bottom layer.

C. 10mm x 83mm Breech wood plate x1 for middle core layer.

**4 + 10 + 4 becomes 18mm thick table top.**

Other Accessories.

A. Solid D rings.

B. Twist lock set for canvas cover.

C. Heavy duty spring clips for shoulder straps.

D. Canvas straps and heavy duty square buckles.

E. Nature Cork sheet 2mm thick for 32mm Cork discs.

A. 32mm hole opener

B. 15mm hole opener

C. 8mm drill bite

D. 4.5mm*165*250mm drill bite

E. M5 x 150mm screws

F. 33mm punch for Cork discs.
